If you’ve ever considered showing your car but weren’t sure what to expect, please join us for our Concours Prep Tech Session. To accomodate as may folks as possible in this limited environment, we'll be conducting two sessions.
When: Saturday, 13 March 2021 and Sunday 14 March from 10AM-1PM.
**Register for the day of your choice. If your choice is full, you can choose the other day or be put on the waiting list. If we have a cancellation, we'll let you know.
Where: The garage of members Eric and Jill Cruz in Barhamsville, VA (address will be emailed to attendees before the event)
Cost: There is no cost for this event.
Limits: Nine (9) participants per day. (This limit conforms to the VA COVID restrictions on gatherings)
What: This detail-oriented course will be presented in two parts:
Part 1:
- Facts and Fiction of Showing a Car
- Review of Parade Competition Rules (PCR)
- Different Types of Concours and Porsche Werks Events
- Levels of Preparation (From “Fun Prep” to “Insane Prep”)
- How to Get Judges to See Your Car Through Your Eyes
- Best Practices for a Successful Presentation
Part 2:
- "Show and Tell" With a Frequently Shown Vehicle
- Your Critique and Suggestions on How to Improve a Showing
About the presenter:
Alex Llorente began showing his cars in 1974, and has earned several significant awards including the 2020 Amelia Island Werks Class Winner. Alex has been judging at concours-level events since 2000 and holds both Regional and National Level Judging Certifications and has served as a Judge at almost every Porsche Parade since 2008.
FSR is extremely fortunate to have Alex’s experience and expertise within our membership. Alex would like to share his extensive knowledge and concours passion with you.
Upon successful completion of the Tech Session, you will have the requisite knowledge to prep and show your car at Concours-level events.

COVID Considerations: Each attendee must have a signed PCA CDE Waiver on file (we'll have the list) or bring one to the event (download the form HERE). Maximum gathering size is ten people per Virginia COVID restrictions. This event will be held in a large privately-owned garage/shop with plenty of space to maintain at least 6 feet between attendees. Attendees will be asked about COVID symptoms, temperatures will be taken, and hand sanitizer will be available. If you are sick on the event date, please stay home.
