Here's a great opportunity to spend time with some young students at Horizons Hampton Roads' SUPER SATURDAY!
One of our FSR sponsored charities, Horizons Hampton Roads is in need of some folks to read to Kindergarden - 2nd grade level kids.
When: Saturday, 4 April, 9:15 - 10AM
Where: PB Young Elemtary School, 543 East Olney Rd in Norfolk
Volunteers will read one-on-one with the students. Horizons' Super Saturday program serves Kindergarden through 2nd graders at PB Young Elementary School. Instilling a love of reading and curiousity about the world in these young learners is one of the most important things we can do to support them towards high school graduation. Each volunteer will be paired with one or two students to read to for the half hour. At the end of the reading time, students will select a book to take home with them. If they attend all five sessions, they will have five new books in their home libraries.
This is a great chance for our members to learn how this programs affects the children in our own neighborhood.
